Weslaco's Superintendent Dr. Richard Rivera's will be retiring in June of 2012 after the school board accepted the superintendent's decision.

Dr. Rivera's name was on the agenda for a special meeting and listed as an evaluation and possible administrative leave with pay. Rivera will continue his duties for the district as usual and the district has not commented the details of the matter.
