Weight loss specialist offers tips for a successful diet.
By now some folks who resolved to lose weight in the new year are starting to fall off the wagon.
Dr. Scott Deron is a longtime cardiologist.
He has recently also become a medical bariatrician, helping patients with weight loss.
As we head toward the new year Dr. Deron shared some of the tips he gives his patients.
- Eat a breakfast high in protein.
- Drink water, never sugary drinks.
- Try a heart-healthy snack like almonds or walnuts.
- Get physically active.
Dr. Deron also tells patients to write on a three-by-five card the reasons they want to lose weight.
"When it becomes difficult I ask my patients to pull cards out and look at that," he says.
