Border Patrol agents in McAllen seized high powered weapons headed into Mexico.

Late Tuesday night, agents working near the Hidalgo port of entry saw a man carrying a duffle bag near the bridge. When agents approached the man he dropped the bag and ran into the Rio Grande river swimming into Mexico. He left behind four disassembled semi-automatic rifles, four magazines, a rifle scope and a bi-pod.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents seized the weapons and the investigation continues in the case.
