Washington D.C. Agency Holds Small Business Forum
An agency in Washington D.C. made its way into the Valley on Tuesday morning in hopes of teaching small business owners in the area about exporting and creating more jobs.
The forum was run by Export Import Bank of the U.S. which teaches small businesses the benefits of sending products out of the country. Several business owners attended to explore their options and learn how they can create more jobs throughout the Valley and beyond. District 15 Director Salomon Torres says exporting is a major way for the U.S. to get out of the economical rut, "So by bringing this resource here at home to the Valley, we want these businesses to have this tool available to them as they look to expand their client base through foreign buyers."
The national goal is to double the number of exports throughout the country within the next five years. Officials say although it's an ambitious goal it would end up creating thousands of jobs for the Untied States.
