EDCOUCH ELSA, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — Walmart announced, on Thursday, plans for a new store to be built in the City of Elsa by the summer of 2014.

The store would be located at the intersection of Mile 16 Road and Broadway and would create up to 300 jobs and be nearly 180,000 square feet in size. The store will feature a full line of groceries, bakery, delicatessen, frozen goods, full service pharmacy, apparel, sporting goods, garden center and electronics.

Elsa Mayor Al Perez commented on the announcement saying, "We are very happy that Walmart has chosen to bring jobs and economic development to our community, along with the convenience of a Walmart Supercenter."
