Volunteers help in survey count on homeless in the city
BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Imagine counting every homeless person in the city. Local volunteers did just that on Thursday as part of a 24 hour nationwide survey and they visited the homeless feeding them and filling out the survey. Maggie San Roman, a volunteer, said, "It's important to know the kind of people we are living with, that not everyone is in the same situation as us. I mean, being a Girl Scout, it's very important to me. I find it very nice to know who is living in this community and who needs the help." Volunteers are working hard to count every homeless person in the area to be able to apply for more grants.
