Veteran Mental Health Services to be Expanded
HARLINGEN — More mental health services will continue to be available to veterans in the Valley as the Veterans Affairs Department is expanding it's mental health staff and the Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System will benefit. The additional personnel will provide individual care, readjustment counseling and crisis services. There will also be more emphasis on researching post traumatic stress disorder and alternative treatments. It's expected that most of the twenty clinicians and four support personnel will be hired within the next six months with the remaining staff hired by 2013.
