Vermillion Elementary School Vandalized

Parents of Vermillion Elementary school students were called throughout the day to pick up their child after getting notified the school had been vandalized earlier on Monday morning.
Brownsville school district 's public information officer says several juveniles were involved in vandalizing more than 50 classrooms. According to reports every classroom in the school sustained extensive damages from broken window's, doors, laptop's, and desktop computers and also damaged furniture.
Officials estimate it will cost about $60,000 to $100,000 dollars to repair the damages and all students were relocated to neighboring Rivera High School for the day. Maria Mendiola has a son at the school and she says she's very scared, but is glad it happened during off school hours. Mendiola can't imagine while her child was in school an Francisco Espinosa who has two kids at the school says he really doesn't trust the security especially after what happened and says there needs to be more protection throughout the city.
B.I.S.D. Police apprehended several juveniles for questioning and one of them a 4th grader were held for some time.The District Attorney's office says the 4th grader will be charged with engaging in organized criminal activity.
