Miami Beach experiments with bicycle vending machines.

The city of Miami Beach is teaming up with Decobike to provide residents and tourists alike a convenient and environmentally friendly and green mode of transportation.

"We're gonna put a hundred stations with a thousand bikes throughout the city, so you can rent a bike and grab a bike from any station, and return it to any station you want," explains Decobike operations manager Bonifacio Diaz.

The Deco stations are solar powered.

Miami Beach officials say the program will benefit the city.

"It's got sustainability. It's great for the community. The more cars we can get off the street the better we all are," says commissioner Jerry Libbin.

European capitals like Paris and Copenhagen have rental bikes and it's being tried in Washington D.C. as well.

Decobike reps say that they plan to expand to other south Florida cities in the near future.
