Buses filled with loved ones, serving in the Iraq war, are finally home after being away nearly a year, but before the arrival of 150 soldiers, their families, waited for them with posters, flags and custom made t-shirts welcoming them home.

For the Ayala family, having their head of the household gone for 11 months was tough with Nancy having to be mom and dad for her three sons, but had help from her 12 year-old son. Although his dad was away at war, Carlos says that never got to him because he knew his dad would be returning home.

The soldiers arrived in buses to the Army Reserve Center in Harlingen to a crowd of family and friends. They were happy to be back . The 812th Quartermaster Unit has been the only Army unit from the Valley to serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom twice.
