Road improvements and getting the money to make them are a big concern for leaders her in the Valley.

That's one reason Brownsville Mayor Pat Ahumada toured Valley streets today with Tex-Dot commissioner Fred Underwood. Roads in Brownsville and around the Valley are packed with cars and trucks.Leaders in Cameron County and residents want to see road improvements and expansion. Leaders are focusing on three big projects. One of those projects is East Loop.It would be a roadway that would run from the International bridges in Brownsville out to the Port of Brownsville. The mayor says the area by the bridges are heavily populated with trucks trading between the US and Mexico. The city of Brownsville and Cameron County leaders would also like to see Morrison road off Expressway 77 expanded to relief stress in that area. The last project is the the I-69 corridor. The roadway would run from Harlingen to Corpus Christi.
