One local grandmother rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Friday.

Rosie Trevino was honored by General Mills Box Tops for Education for helping out other coordinators involved in the program. All expenses were paid for Trevino to go to New York City and ring the bell on Friday. She's involved at Dr. Pablo Perez Elementary school in McAllen and in those two years the school collected a little more than $3,000 dollars. The school is trying to collect more box tops in hopes to receive a big check at the end of the year.
