Valley Native to Pitch in World Series Game
SHARYLAND - The fate of the St. Louis Cardinals lies on the left arm of former Valley pitcher, Jaime Garcia, on Thursday nights World Series game six.
All eyes will be on Garcia who will be the first to take the mound for the Cardinals in game six of the World Series. The game was postponed on Wednesday due to bad weather and rescheduled for Thursday evening. Garcia was born in Reynosa, Mexico, but grew up in the Valley playing baseball for Sharyland high school and then being drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2004. Some of his high school coaches are more than excited to see Garcia represent the Valley in the World Series.
Game seven of the World Series begins at 7 PM tonight and it's a do or die for the Cardinals as the Texas Rangers are only one win away from winning their first World Series championship.
