Valley Cities Hold Ceremonies for Fallen Law Enforcement Officers

Several Valley communities remembered law enforcement officers who were killed in the line of duty on Wednesday afternoon. The City of Los Fresnos remembered one of it's own officers and a DPS officer who were killed in 1981. The City of Edinburg held a ceremony as well as the one ceremony held at La Joya high school. In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officer's Memorial Day during National Police Week. The McAllen Police Department held their annual memorial event with more than 100 law enforcers and community leaders gathered to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
