UPDATE: Award has been increased to $300 dollars.

“Just knowing she’s not here…it’s just not the same. You know, there’s a void at Valley Christian because she’s not here.”

Walking through these doors and these hallways won't be the same when students and faculty return to Valley Christian High School in the fall. Jasmine, the beloved school dog, who has been with the school for six years, has been missing since Tuesday and is thought to be stolen.

“You know we don’t think she was hit because we searched for at least a mile radius, and um, I’m just afraid someone thought she was a stray... I think someone just picked her up, and I’m hoping that some neighbor will see this and say ‘Hey, that dog has an owner’”.

Faculty and students described Jasmine as lovable, friendly, and loyal to a fault:

“It took her a while to bond with me, but once she did she became a really sweet companion.”

“My favorite dog of all time.”

“It’s like a big memory for us during school.”

Based on Jasmine's breed and personality, running away was not a high probability.

“At 6:30 on Tuesday morning, Gail Hanson gave Jasmine one last pet before going inside this church for a prayer service, which featured a discussion on how to improve the community of Brownsville. Ironically, when Hanson stepped outside the church at 7:30, she noticed that Jasmine was missing, and was very likely stolen.”

A couple students even spent some of their summer break looking for her:

“Actually me and a friend of mine actually went looking for her on Thursday and Friday, so…I-we really don’t know where she is, but we hope that we can find her soon.”

If you have any information on the missing chow-collie mix, please contact Gail Hanson at 956-371-8147. You could receive a $200 reward.
