As the nation celebrates President Obama's inauguration, one Valley author is hoping you'll pick up his book about why he switched parties to help vote Obama into the White House. Pharr Businessman and Author, Leroy Tapia says in past elections he went with Republican candidates, but this time around, he says, he felt the nation needed a change. "I figured change was needed and Barack Obama was the man to make that change." 41-year old, Leroy Tapia wrote his 2nd book called, "Why Barack Obama Won My Vote."

He says, "The experience has changed my thoughts as far as politics go."
Tapia says Obama's vision of change is ultimately what won his vote and inspired him to pen his novel. "I was not into politics before I wrote this book, but after 8 years of Bush, and started researching the candidates." This Valley author says he liked Obama's immigration plans and hands-on approach to politics. "I decided to vote democratic after hearing his speeches," Tapia says. Tapia says he hopes his book can inspire all voters, to ask questions and become more informed Americans.
"It takes all of us to come together and really make a change. One man can't do it all by himself. Everyone needs to pitch in, and do their share."

Tapia's currently writing his third book. This one is not about politics. It's an action-adventure novel. If you'd like to buy "Why Barack Obama Won My Vote", go to
