Valentine's Day Holiday Gives A Boost to Local Businesses

Phones were ringing off the hook as several Upper Valley flower shops worked around the clock for Valentine's day.

Several balloons, stuffed animals and flower arrangements flew off the shelves.
As several last minute shoppers made their way into stores to pick up gifts for their sweetheart.

Many small businesses look forward to Valentine's day. As the economy slowly improves holidays like this one bring in lots of money.

Adriana Lucio manages a flower shop in McAllen. She tells us they have been non-stop since Thursday.
A dozen roses goes for about seventy bucks but Lucio tell us people don't mind the cost.
 

Lucio tells us they don't even know when they will close today but she expects to keep the doors open for any last minute shoppers.
