A UTPA student's dream of working for NASA has come true for a recent engineering graduate.

He credits UTPA for giving him the knowledge that played a big role in getting a job with NASA. Rick Ybarra's long hours in a UTPA laboratory and classroom paid off in a big way for the mechanical engineering graduate. More importantly, he says his experience working at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, as a college intern got him the job with NASA. Ybarra is the first UT Pan American student to complete the Cooperative Education Program and be hired full-time by the agency.
