It may be one of the best kept secrets at the University of Texas at Pan American as the Physician Assistant studies program is ranked among the tops in the nation. They work alongside or fill in for family physicians and other medical specialists. They are physicians assistants or PA's and many who have jobs in medical related facilities throughout the Rio Grande Valley are products of UTPA's Physician Assistant studies program.
