The University of Texas Pan American will be cutting 26 staff members this fall due to a $17 million dollar reduction in funding over the next two years.

UTPA is currently in a hiring freeze, but is working to retain employees who are qualified to fill open positions deemed critical to operate the institution. University employees will find out about their current job status on an individual basis on Wednesday and Thursday.
