UTPA Report on the "Broncs at Work" alma mater
The University of Texas-Pan American is hoping to connect to more alums with its community outreach programs. Here's Sandra Quintanilla with this week's News Center 23 report.
The University of Texas-Pan American is proud of the 70,000 graduates it has produced since the institution opened its doors 85 years ago. While that number is a milestone administrators like to tout about the University, they say there still needs to be more done to encourage alums to stay true and loyal to their alma mater. " Broncs at Work" is just one of several initiatives UTPA started to encourage former students to reconnect with UT Pan Am. The program recognizes their accomplishments in the workplace and the businesses that hire them. Receptions are also held across the country where Alumni chapters are active as well as mixers like this one held recently in Edinburg. Among those in attendance was Cynthia Sakulinzki, a recent Alumni Association Board Member appointee.
