It recruits and hires from the Rio Grande Valley's hometown higher learning institution, the university of Texas pan American, to date as many as 80 former and current  UTPA students work in different capacities including managerial positions at IBC branches across Hidalgo County which according to president and chief executive officer David Guerra is a testament of the quality of education being offered at UT Pan Am.

To celebrate their successes with IBC, The university's Alumni relations office recently partnered with IBC to host a breakfast reception at the Bank's main facility in McAllen.
