UT System Chancellor Francisco Cigarroa made his first Valley visit of 2014 today to continue informing South Texans about the new UT-RGV school.

The chancellor started his trip at Lincoln Middle School in McAllen this morning where he spoke to middle and high school students from seven different campuses.

The students participated in a Q&A session voicing their interest in the new UT school.

"The highlight is always talking to our future students," said Cigarroa.  "Today was a perfect example of how well prepared these students are, just the probing questions that they asked which were highly intelligent.  And also getting a glimpse of what their dreams are.  It's terrific."

Cigarroa continued his Valley visit at UT Pan American this afternoon to meet with students and faculty there about UT-RGV and the new medical school.
