U.S. Government Request Extradition of Zeta Cartel Member

The man accused of killing Brownsville ICE agent Jaime Zapata could be tried in a Untied States court.

The Mexican Attorney General stated that they are processing the request of the United States to extradite Julian Zapata Espinoza who is also known as El Piolin. He is the Zeta cartel member who is accused of killing ICE agent Jaime Zapata in Mexico on February 15th on a highway near San Luis Potosi. Mexican officials say the request was made by the U.S. government on May 12th and continue to work with American authorities on the extradition.
