Custom officers seized over $3 million worth of narcotics and arrested a Mexican citizen for allegedly attempting to smuggle the drugs.

The incident happened at the Anzalduas-Reynosa International Bridge on March 23rd when a white 2010 Honda, driven by a 31 year-old Mexican citizen, arrived at the port of entry.

The driver was sent to a secondary inspection where 38 packages of drugs were found concealed inside the vehicle. The total weight of the packages was nearly 50 pounds and tested positive for both heroin and cocaine with a street value of over $3 million dollars.

The driver was arrested and released to Homeland Security investigators for further investigation.
