U.S.. Army Sergeant Jonathan Gollnitz Laid to Rest
MISSION — U.S.. Army Sergeant Jonathan Gollnitz was laid to rest at the Rio Grande State Veterans Cemetery on Monday by family and friends. Sgt. Gollnitz died from his injuries when an insurgent, wearing a suicide vest, exploded next to his patrol unit in Afghanistan. Sgt. Gollnitz is from New Jersey and grew up in the Valley with his aunt and uncle and he had requested, prior to his death, that he wanted to be buried in the Valley.
