But the worries of his condition is set aside Wednesday because he and his family are heading to Walt Disney World for the rest of the week. It's a wish come true for little Jose Luis. We asked him if there was a specific Disney character he wanted to meet He said Mickey Mouse.
"I'm happy, I'm just so happy for him. because he got his wish granted. Like his condition there's stuff he can't do, like he wont be able to play football. But just to get his wish granted and going to Disney it means a lot to us and him," said the mother of Jose Luis, Mary Garza.
"To know that there's still people out there shows there's still good in the world," said Jose Garza, the boy's father.
The dream becoming a reality was made possible through a local Wal-mart and the local chapter of Make A Wish Foundation. It's an organization that enriches the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work.
"All of a sudden instead of giving up hope they have hope and they start fighting and they want to live and they want to see another tomorrow," said Ava Sandlin, Executive Director for Local Make A Wish Foundation.
"Really try to the last possibly the last dream come true of any kid that could have a terminally ill situation and i think that's wonderful," said Al Serrano, Wal-Mart market manager.
As the Garza family make their way through security and all geared to hang out with Mickey! They leave their worries behind for the rest of the week and enjoy the time they have together with little Jose Luis.
