TX Senate bill passes on school breakfast program
AUSTIN, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — House passage of bill to increase participation in school breakfast program.
Senate Bill 376, passed and will provide that all schools participating in the federal School Breakfast Program make available a free breakfast to each of their students, if 80 percent or more of those students qualify for free or reduced-price meals.
The bill previously passed out of the Senate Committee on Education and was passed by the full Senate in April. Now passed by both chambers, the bill moves to the Governor.
