TX Governor Perry on government shutdown
St. Charles, MO — With the clock ticking on a possible government shutdown, politicians from around the country are weighing in on who's to blame for the stalemate over the budget.
On Saturday, Texas Governor and former Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry criticized President Obama for not doing more to work with Republicans, "I'm like a lot of other people that... you'll negotiate with the leader of Iran, but you won't even sit down with Republicans in the House and the Senate and try to find a reasonable middle ground on this?"
Early Sunday morning, the Republican led House approved a second spending plan that would add controversial measures to undermine Obamacare.
Both the President and lawmakers in the Democratically controlled Senate have said they will not approve any plan that includes changes to the health care reform.
If no deal is reached in the coming days, the government will shut down Tuesday.
