A motel owner says prostitution is nothing new. In fact, she says she sees prostitutes go in and out of her motel daily, making her business looks bad.

Nancy Saucedo has a sign on her door that clearly reads, “No drugs, prostitution, or illegal weapons allowed” on the premises of the La Casita Motel in McAllen. But she says no one pays attention to the sign she posted years ago.

“My motel is just like any other motel around here. There’s prostitution, drugs go around. If I know they’re prostitutes I normally kick them out.”

But even after she kicks them out, they return, because renting a room at her motel is fairly cheap, compared to others in the area. Saucedo bought the business nearly 20 years ago and says she has always seen prostitution activity.

“I have all kinds of people come here lawyers, business people.”

That’s why the arrests made by the McAllen Police Department aren’t quite surprising. Undercover agents arrested two women: 48-year-old, Bernadina Hernandez Galicia, and 48-year-old, Enriqueta Lopez Martinez. Both were charged with prostitution. The two women are now out of jail after being released on a $2,000 bond.
