Two vehicle accident leads to one driver being arrested for possession of marijuana

A Santa Rosa man is arrested on various traffic violations and a drug charge after being involved in an accident.

On Tuesday, August 19th at around 11:30 a.m. Harlingen police were dispatched to the intersection of North Loop 499 and East Grimes in reference to a two vehicle accident.

Police questioned the driver of a black Saturn Ion, identified as Dustin Waller, 21, from Santa Rosa and determined the speed he was driving was the cause of the accident.

It was also discovered that Waller had no insurance, was driving with expired inspection and registration sticker. Waller was arrested and during a pat down the officer found 2.6 grams of marijuana in his possession.

Waller was charged with possession of marijuana, failure to control speed, no insurance and expired registration, handed a $794 fine and a bond of $1,000.
