Two men arrested in Harlingen home burglary

Harlingen police arrested two men suspected in breaking into a home and stealing valuables from the victim.

On Friday, August 2nd, in the morning hours, police were dispatched to the 700 block of East Polk Avenue in reference to a burglary.

The victim reported that three men, two who he knew and one that he didn't, entered his residence by kicking the front door down and then threatening to shoot him with a automatic rifle if he did not give them money.

In fear for his life, the victim handed over jewelry, electronics and cash totaling approximately over $3,000 and the suspects then fled.

Police were able to identify the two suspects as Manuel Jose Ayala, 23, and Nicolas Lozano Angulo, 32, who were both arrested on Tuesday, August 6th.

Both men have been charged with burglary of a Habitation with intent to commit assault, Ayala's bond was set at $750,000 and Angulo's at $150,000.
