EDINBURG - More than half a million babies are born premature every year.
Children born prematurely have a much higher chance of having health risks when they get older.
News Center 23 Reporter Erin Murray met with a family that had twins at five months, two weeks into the pregnancy. Children born this early have about a 20 percent chance of living. But because they were twins, the odds went down, giving them only a 10 percent chance of living.
