BROWNSVILLE, TX — Dr. Lily F. Tercero, TSC president, assumes a new leadership role as a member of the National Community College Hispanic Council (NCCHC) Board of Directors. In this capacity, she joins community college leaders from across the United States in fulfilling NCCHC’s mission of preparing and supporting Hispanic leaders in America’s community colleges.
NCCHC is an affiliated council of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) and serves as the premier organization for Hispanic leadership development in community colleges. As a member of the NCCHC Board, Dr. Tercero will collaborate with other board members to support educational and leadership development experiences and provide opportunities for Hispanic professionals to continue their personal and career growth. The NCCHC is also committed to establishing strategic alliances that foster Hispanic leadership opportunities.
“I am deeply honored to have been nominated and selected to serve on the NCCHC Board,” said Dr. Tercero. “I’ve been very fortunate to have received guidance and professional development from wonderful mentors, and I look forward to sharing my knowledge with other Hispanic community college leaders.”
Elected by NCCHC members, Dr. Tercero will begin serving her three-year term, effective July 2014.
