Tropical storm Isaac has formed in the tropical Atlantic, about 500 miles east of Guadeloupe in the Lesser Antilles.
Tropical Storm Isaac formed early today in the western Atlantic. Isaac is expected to enter the Caribbean by Friday and quickly intensify to a Category 1 hurricane. Right now, the path of the storm is directly west at 18 mph, but the storm is expected to veer northwest by the weekend. The storm still points towards Florida and the East Coast by early next week. However, there are still a few outlying models, the ECMWF and the GFS, which take the track slightly more to the west and into the Gulf of Mexico.
