BROWNSVILLE - Opening arguments began on Wednesday morning in the capital murder trial of Mexican mafia member Wilfredo Padilla.

Padilla is accused of ordering the murder of Jo Ann Chavez who was kidnapped from Valle Vista Mall in Harlingen back in 2003. Chavez's remains were not found until two years later in a field in Willacy county and investigators say Padilla is one of ten suspects accused in her murder.
