BROWNSVILLE - A mother and her two young children are safe after their trailer home caught on fire in Cameron Park.

Brownsville firefighters responded to the call on Tuesday morning near the 2500 block of Eduardo street. The cause has not determined and investigators say the fire started in the kitchen area while the mother was making breakfast. County Arson Investigator Charles Hoskins says,"The fire started in and around the vicinity of the kitchen and there were some people cooking food. The situation got out of hand. The people noticed the fire and called in the report. They then got out of the trailer. The investigation will probably be concluded by the end of the week. The fire marshal should be coming back on Thursday."

According to Hoskins, the damage caused by the fire was contained to only the kitchen area and didn't compromise the structure of the trailer.
