Traffic stop turns into foot chase of intoxicated Harlingen man

Harlingen police arrest two men, one for traffic violations and the second for evading arrest after fleeing on foot.

On Thursday, July 3, at around 11:30 p.m. a patrol unit made a traffic stop on a blue 2001 GMC Yukon with defective equipment in the 200 block of Rangerville Road.

As the driver, identified as Angel DeJesus Trevino, 26, stopped the vehicle his passenger, later identified as Orlando Gonzalez, 25, exited the car and fled on foot towards the arroyo.

Officers were able to capture Gonzalez and Trevino was detained at the scene of the traffic stop and later arrested.

Gonzalez was charged with public intoxication and evading arrest with as bond set at $1,000 dollars, Trevino was charged with traffic violations and M/C warrants.
