Traffic stop leads to the arrest of two men for possession of narcotics

A Harlingen driver and his passenger are arrested for possession of narcotics after a officer witnesses a traffic violation while on patrol.

On Friday, May 16th at around 8 p.m. a Harlingen officer witnessed a gray four door vehicle fail to make a complete stop at an intersection and pulled the driver for the infraction.

The driver was identified as Louie Anthony Martinez, 26, and his passenger as Antonio Cruz, 22, both from Harlingen. The officer could smell an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and during a search of the car found a bag of marijuana, cocaine and twelve pills of ecstasy in the glove box.

Both Martinez and Cruz were arrested and charged with possession of narcotics.
