Tornados Hit New England

Storms kill at least four in Massachusetts.

At least four people are dead after a strong line of storms rumbled across western and central Massachusetts Wednesday evening.

The tower cam at the NBC affiliate in Springfield captured what appears to be a towering funnel cloud whirling above the city.

Residents were stunned.

Several buildings in springfield were heavily damaged.

Large vehicles were flipped and heavy trees were toppled.

Thousands of homes were left without power.

Massachusetts' governor declared a state of emergency.

Many displaced residents plan to stay in emergency shelters.

Power officials say it could days to restore full electrical power to the region.

National guard troops will assist in the recovery effort.
