Security cameras capture video of a tornado that tore through a business in Alabama.

When a tornado came roaring through the town of Theodore, Alabama, security cameras in several businesses caught some amazing sights. The F2 twister, with winds reaching speeds of 120 miles per hour, touched down in the town on Wednesday. It's being described as the worst severe weather outbreak in ten years.

The man working on the riding lawn mower is Lee Grant. Lee knows bad weather is approaching the hardware store where he works. He just doesn't know how bad.

Lee says "but all of sudden the hail just hammered. And before I could even turn my head and look up, everything started going crazy. And I tried to crawl under the mower. You tried to crawl under the mower? I tried to crawl under that mower."

Lee says he was working on a customer's engine in the back around 9:30 yesterday when he heard some hail on the roof and the lights flickered. And Lee says he knew something bad was about to happen.

Lee says "Yeah. It was a bad sign. I know that'sis a tale tell for a tornado. But I didn't realize I was going to have one come over the top of my head."

The F2 tornado that hit Theodore, Alabama stripped the roof from Alexander's Hardware and small engine repair, and damaged or destroyed several other nearby homes and businesses. But here at Alexander's, the fear of those moments was caught on video.

Tornado survivor Margaret Alexander says "we saw this mass and then all of a sudden stuff just started flying everywhere. "

Margaret Alexander and her husband tony own the hardware store. Their son is responsible for an amazing network of security cameras in the store, cameras that kept rolling, even as the tornado came roaring through the building.

Margaret says "well, the lights flickered, and they came back on, and then we started hearing it and we went to the door. And that's when it was right at us. It was right there. And so my husband and I took off under the counter."

In this video, you can see their friend run toward the door as Margaret retreats to the back of the counter toward her husband. A good thing. Because moments later, the door explodes inward. For a brief moment, the Alexanders are in the grip of a tornado. But in the end, the four people inside the store at the time the tornado struck walked away unscathed. Hard to believe when you see this.
