Toddler Treated at Valley Baptist Hospital in Brownsville

The CDC confirmed the first death blamed on the swine flu in the U.S. and officials say doctors at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville briefly treated the infected toddler.

Medical staff in Houston confirmed the boy is a 23 month-old from Mexico and spent the the beginning of this month visiting family in South Texas. The boy died on Monday at Texas Childrens Hospital in Houston after doctors transferred him from Valley Baptist in Brownsville.

Swine flu is suspected of killing more than 150 people and making more than 2,400 sick in Mexico. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirms 16 cases of swine flu in Texas and Governor Rick Perry issued a disaster declaration for the entire state. He also went on to say "Texans need to know, there is no cause for panic".
