A toddler is recovering from injuries after being ejected from a vehicle during a car accident.

It happened this afternoon at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Edinburg Police say a 29-year-old woman was driving northbound on U.S. Highway 281 when her SUV lost control and crashed into a concrete barrier.

A three-year-old girl was ejected through an open window and landed on the roadway.

The toddler received head injuries and was taken to a local hospital where she is listed in stable condition.

The female driver is said to be okay.

Investigators are trying to determine if the child was restrained in a car seat at the time of the crash. Police could not locate any car seat at the accident scene.

No charges have been filed against the driver.
