Three More Months Left for Hurricane Season

There are still three more months left until the end of hurricane season, but the National Weather Service in Brownsville says a hurricane is not likely at this time, but there could be some activity in the Gulf of Mexico before mid-October. With cooler temperatures expected that's not likely to happen as Justin Gibbs from the NWS stated, "We are also looking at a potential for El Nino conditions to develop in the Eastern Pacific Ocean through the month of September and that typically get more cold fronts, we are going to get more cooler air coming into the area and that makes it difficult and increases the wind sheer in the Western Gulf of Mexico and makes it difficult for tropical cyclones to develop." To help ensure your family's safety create a disaster preparedness plan that includes a disaster survival kit and an emergency evacuation plan.
