13 people are recovering, two are dead and a teenage girl is expected to face charges for those deaths...because DPS troopers say she caused the deadly weekend crash which hurt them.
The 17-year old does not have a license, and her father is one of the dead.
Department of Publice Safety Trooper, Johnny Hernandez says, it happened in Alton on FM 2933, by Mile 9 1/2 road.
That's where a teenage girl, without a license was driving.
She tried to pass a Dodge Pick Up Truck, which was headed northbound.
Her Camry collided head-on with a jeep going south.
DPS says, the teen's father, 40-year old, Juan Cantu Rocha from Edinburg was the Passenger of the Camry. He died.
A two year old was also in the Camry, when the cars collided.
The toddler was flown to a San Antonio Hospital, where the child's still in critical condition.
A girl in another car, 6-year old, Davinia Casarez from Mission was ejected from a truck.
She was not wearing her seatbelt and died.
In fact, many weren't wearing their seat belts.
Hernandez says, DPS is doing something about it.
"Starting September First, we will start enforcing the safety belt law. Everyone must use safety belts."
Trooper Hernandez says, 13 others were hurt, and all of them were taken to the hospital.
DPS wants to remind everyone that it's very important to wear your seat belt.
Not only to avoid fines, but to avoid injury, and even worse, death.
The 17-year old driver is expected to fact two counts of criminal negligent homicide for this crash.
