Grand Ole Opry stars take the stage for first time since May floods.

Country music finally came home Tuesday night, almost five months after water filled Grand Ole Opry.

Opry stars took to the stage for the first time since it was covered by May's floods.

The famous wood floor pulled from the original Opry at the Rhyman Theatre was saved from the flood waters and lovingly restored.

Even as they celebrate recovery, the city remembers.

"We had 10 people die in Nashville, we had over $2-billion in damage to private property. We had about 10,000 properties damaged," recalled Mayor Karl Dean.

One of those properties was the iconic performance hall.

Now renovated and repaired, there is a message in the music, a song of survival for anyone who will listen.
