Atlantis returns to earth, ending the decades long shuttle program.

Space Shuttle Atlantis has landed at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Atlantis touched down just before dawn, ending the 30 year shuttle program that has been at the heart of NASA's manned space flights.

NASA engineers say the clear skies helped with the picture perfect landing.

Atlantis and the other three orbiters are being retired.

Russia's space agency will continue to fly U.S. astronauts to the International Space Station.
