The Big Drug TakeBack
The DEA is urging you to drop off old prescriptions at thousands of sites on Saturday.
When was the last time you checked your medicine cabinet for unfinished or expired prescriptions?
Chances are most of us have some unwanted pills, and officials say that makes us part of the fastest growing drug problem in America.
This Saturday there's something you can do about it in the first nationwide prescription take back program.
Outdated, unused, and unwanted prescriptions can be dropped off at 3,400 sites nationwide.
They'll be disposed of, no questions asked.
Last year a similar program in New Jersey netted more than 3.5 million pills.
Prescription drugs are now the fastest growing drug problem in America, with an estimated seven million non-medical users in 2009.
Experts say its not good enough to throw out pills, and flushing them can get into the water supply.
