Texting and Driving Fines in School Zones

BROWNSVILLE - School is just around the corner and drivers need to be on alert in school zones.

They can expect to pay an average fine of 200 dollars if they're caught speeding or using a hand held cell phone in an active Rio Grande Valley area school zone.

According to an Allstate Insurance survey, The highest fine for cell phone violations in a Rio Grande Valley area school zone is 225 dollars, and that's in Brownsville.
