McALLEN - Several members of the community joined the Texas Postal Workers Union on Wednesday to inform the public about the potential closure of the Postal processing center.
Protesters say moving the center to Corpus Christi will cost the area over 70 jobs as well as delays in mail service. The USPS says moving the processing center will save them over $6 million dollars and union workers have been gathering hundreds of signatures since last week in hopes of putting a stop to the plan.
A community meeting about the future of the processing center will be held on December 1st at McAllen City Hall and the public is invited to attend.
